The Pillars of the Neo Carbon Standard

  • Baseline and Additionality

We demonstrate that the project's emission reductions or carbon sequestration are additional to what would occur in its absence. Each project must show a measurable and positive impact beyond the baseline scenario.

  • Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)

We implement a continuous cycle of on-site monitoring and third-party verification. Our processes are audited by accredited entities such as Bureau Veritas, ensuring that data remains accurate and reliable throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Safeguards and Co-benefits

Our projects go beyond carbon. We require the monitoring of positive impacts on biodiversity and local communities, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensuring that conservation generates social value.

  • Transparency Through Technology

Each credit (UCF, UCA, UCBio) generated under our methodologies is recorded in our system and tokenized on the Polygon blockchain. This creates a public, immutable, and fully traceable record from issuance to retirement.

Tailored Solutions for Brazil’s Biomes

Each ecosystem has its own characteristics. That’s why we developed specific methodologies to quantify and certify the environmental impact of different types of conservation and restoration projects in Brazil.

  • Forest Carbon (UCF)

    Certified Methodology by TECPAR

A methodology for forest conservation and preservation projects (ARR - Avoided, Reduced, Removed). Focused on rewarding landowners who keep their native forest standing, ensuring carbon stock and preventing deforestation.

    Biomas:Amazon, Cerrado, Atlantic Forest

Área:Forests up to 900 hectares (Amazon and Cerrado) and up to 3,000 hectares (Atlantic Forest)

Impacto Gerado:UCF - Forest Carbon Unit

  • REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation)

    Certified Methodology

Methodology aimed at larger-scale projects that actively tackle the causes of deforestation and forest degradation. Ideal for areas under high deforestation pressure, where project intervention is crucial for forest survival.

    Biomas:All Brazilian forest biomes

Área:Forest areas up to 3,000 hectares

    Impacto Gerado:UCF-REDD+ Brazil

  • Blue Carbon (UCA)

    Certified Methodology

A pioneering methodology focused on the conservation and restoration of coastal mangrove ecosystems. These ecosystems are highly efficient carbon sinks and vital for coastal protection and marine biodiversity.

    Ecosistema:Brazilian Mangroves

    Área:900ha

Impacto Gerado:UCA - Blue Carbon Unit

  • Biodiversity (UCBio)

    Em Processo de Certificação

An innovative approach aimed at quantifying and certifying biodiversity gains generated by conservation actions. The goal is to create an asset that directly rewards the protection of species and overall ecosystem health.

Projetos:Areas with High Conservation Value (HCV), ecological corridors, and species reintroduction projects.

    Área:Up to 3,000 hectares

Impacto Gerado:UCBio - Biodiversity Conservation Unit

Does your area have potential for a project?

We believe that thousands of hectares in Brazil can be transformed into impact projects. If you are a landowner or project developer, we have the tools to help you get started.
